Summary

Finish: Original

Body Material: Maple Body

Top Material: Spruce Top

Body Details: Maple back and sides with arched spruce top. There are a few repaired cracks in the top. Some back braces have been repaired, while a few are slightly cracked and/or loose. Fully repairing these braces would require removal of the back, and so they have been left to avoid devaluing the instrument.

Neck Material: Mahogany Neck

Neck Profile: “V” profile

Neck Thickness (IN): .96″ (1st fret), 1.04″ (10th fret)

Fingerboard Radius: 10.00″

Nut Width: 1-11/16″

Scale Length: 24 3/4″

Neck Details: Mahogany neck with unbound Brazilian rosewood fretboard, dot inlays, headstock truss rod adjustment, and silkscreen logo. The nut has been replaced.

Electronics: None

Hardware: The nut and bridge appear to have been replaced. The pickguard is included, but is missing its mounting hardware.

Weight: 5 lbs

Cosmetic Condition: The guitar has various marks and signs of age present, including numerous finish chips, scratches, and other assorted small blemishes. There are two repaired cracks in the top, extending from the bottom of the body upward. The original pickguard mounting holes were filled, and left-handed pickguard mounting holes were drilled in the body.

Modifications/Repairs: -Two repaired top cracks, which have been reinforced with internal spruce cleats-Several back braces have been repaired-The nut has been replaced. It appears the guitar was at one point converted to a left-handed instrument, as the original pickguard mounting holes were filled and new ones were drilled in the body.-The bridge base does not appear to be original

Tech Notes: The guitar plays well with low action and minor neck relief, and is currently set up with 12-53 phosphor bronze strings. The truss rod is adjustable. It appears the guitar was at one point converted to a lefty, but has since been made right-handed again. The frets are low with some small divots under the treble strings up to the fifth fret. The factory order number and construction appointments date this guitar to 1937. The factory order number is visible inside the treble F-hole.

Case Details: Original chipboard case
